Model Teachers

The first year of teaching is a memorable one for all educators. Our goal is to provide another source of support specific to the needs of our newest teachers. Model teachers will explore the 3 Cs with their colleagues: culture, curriculum, and craft. Through on-going communication, development opportunities, and an open-classroom policy, we strive to support the teachers who join our NNPS team.

We believe in encouraging the growth and development of all our teachers and know that our newest hires crave specialized support specific to their needs. One way this is done in NNPS is through our model teacher program. Our model teacher team consists of exemplary teachers across all grade levels and content areas. These educators are passionate about their craft and ensure that all students learn at the highest levels. Model teachers develop welcoming learning environments in which students feel safe to take risks and colleagues are excited to collaborate and explore together. Model Classroom Visit Request

Are you interested in visiting the classroom of a model teacher to see the teaching and learning in action? Observe a positive classroom climate, engaging learning environment, and rigorous instruction in action. We encourage new teachers to visit with a coach, specialist, administrator, or instructional supervisor to maximize the time and engage in collegial dialogue.

*Please note, new teachers must first make arrangements with their building principals if they are interested in visiting a model teacher's classroom. Also, building principals must arrange coverage for any teacher who participates in a classroom visit.
